Section 2 - Malbec

June 26th, 2015

Probus Clos Triguedina, Vignerons Jean-Luc Baldès, Cahors, France - 2006

  • $34.50
  • Color: blood red dress, darker than the previous reviewed wine
  • Served with pork tenderloin, lemon & herbs butter sauce, spicy broccoli and mustard rice

He says :           2 stars
  • Smells very oaky, black olives smell
  • First it has a nice fruity, strong taste but it doesn't last long at all, shrivels back into a poor, barrel tasting aftertaste
  • Tastes like fad tannins, and very dry
  • At first, cherries, strawberries, licorice
  • If you aerate it and wash it around, it's pleasant.. but when drunk, it's over
  • Maybe too old
  • Very poor choice, especially for the price

She says :           3.25 stars
  • Pleasant smell : cherries, raspberries
  • Also a smell of black olives
  • Smooth and fatty first taste
  • Very flavorful : round, red fruit but a bit light
  • Pleasant when full in mouth, but a little bitter and very dry aftertaste
  • No finish
  • Corky taste?
