Part B - Red wines

Section 1 - Cabernet Franc

March 3rd, 2015

Van Bers Vineyard, Tawse (Tawse winery), Creek shores, Ontario, VQA Canada - 2009
  • $50.50
  • Color: clear dress but dark like blood or ruby
  • Served with a veal stew, various vegetables and broccoli soup

He says :           4.5 stars
  • To start, it is very round, fresh and incredibly smooth
  • Finish is full-bodied and dry, with tannins that are pretty powerful but that have aged enough.
  • Very long finish (even more as it is aerated) and very strong
  • Strong taste of red fruits, blackberries, cherries
  • Aroma is chocolatey, and of raspberries
  • There's a touch of jam towards the end, strawberry? and black currant too
  • Very good wine, intense, and of very good quality
  • Complex
  • Not exactly my taste so I wouldn't buy it again but I am not disappointed at all

She says :           4.5 stars
  • This wine has the acidity of a cherry tomato, very sweet like jam
  • Aroma of black currant
  • Very round on the palate
  • Persistent finish
  • Taste of sweet cherries
  • Too acidic and heavy for my taste but very interesting & complex
